Empire Review Not so cool cats! - 3 out of 5  (4/14/2000) "The Aristocats" isn't really a typical Disney film. It is a Disney film but it's not like the other films. First: there are only three songs in the film compared to the standard five to seven in a Disney film that is light. Second: The animation is not quite up to par. Disney was experimenting with new techniques at the time and as a result the animation comes off looking choppy and stilted. Third: The story wasn't exactly original.
